Makerhoodie publishes book on party decorations

poms bookMany congratulations to Makerhoodie Juliet Carr of PaperPoms UK on the publication of her first book, Paper Pom-poms and Other Party Decorations.

Juliet has been a firm supporter of Makerhood, giving talks on how she made the leap from making poms at her kitchen table to becoming a fully-fledged business providing work for other people. And now she’s an author!

From eye-catching pom-poms to pretty garlands and stunning giant flowers, you’ll want to make every one of these wonderful paper decorations in her book. Begin with the classic pom-poms and make them in different sizes and colours for a real impact. Learn, too, how to make honeycomb balls and rosette snowflakes – all hanging decorations that will look great hung from the ceiling, in a window or on a Christmas tree.

The projects use a variety of paper materials, including tissue, card and crepe paper, as well as recycled magazine pages and wrapping paper – and no specialist craft experience is needed. Projects are quick and easy, especially with step-by-step photos to guide you along the way.

Paper Pom-poms and Other Party Decorations is published by Cico Books on 10 September, price £12.99.
